It's Not The Size... It's What You Do With It!
Another In The Tools For The Road Series

Today's road warrior has an ever-growing arsenal of tools to choose from. We now have Smart Phones such as those from Palm, Apple and Blackberry that allow us to do virtually all our everyday desktop functions in miniature. For those who want a more expansive yet compact workspace, we have the Netbook. These little wonders allow us to carry around all of our standard daily applications in a form factor that weighs a couple of pounds and can operate from anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. So now, the ever-harried businessperson can put his presentation together, load it on his Netbook or Smart Phone, tweak it to perfection while sitting on the train and show up at the clients completely prepared for his presentation. Except...

Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Small businesses comprise over 90% of the employers in the United States, and as statistics would have, you're about to make your presentation to one of those small businesses. It employs about 30 people, and you will be making your presentation to six members of that company. You're escorted into a small conference room with your clients. You take out your Netbook, look around, and notice that there is no projector in the room. There is a white board on the wall, and fortunately it has a pull down screen. You quickly realize that like most small businesses, the meetings that take place in this room are informal, and most of the work sessions involve thoughts and diagrams written and erased on the whiteboard. Your presentation is somewhat complicated, and attempting to draw it on the whiteboard would be laughable. So, you reach into your laptop case and pull out a small 4" x 5" black-and-white device that to everyone's amazement is in fact, a projector!
