It's that time of year again when everyone is shopping for that just right gift or accessory for the tech enthusiast on their holiday shopping list. Now while it is beyond me why anyone would wait several months for a cool gadget that was on the shelf today, apparently, there are others among you who consider things like food and clothing a priority, or at least that's what I've been told.

 In deference to those of you who insist on wearing shoes without holes, eating lunch on a regular basis and are in need of a special occasion to buy your technology, we give you, The Gift, Gadget and Gizmo Guide, Part 1, with suggestions for Bluetooth hands free devices.

As a card-carrying member (AARP) of the baby boomer generation I am surprised by new challenges every day.  One of my favorites is the ongoing battle between the length of my arms and the size of the print on everything I read from newspapers to phone screens. 

Let’s talk about the telephone, who among us could function without it?  Every household has several. Some are wired, more and more are wireless.   Sometimes using the phone is the bane of my existence.  Tiny buttons, tiny numbers and tiny screens with even tinier writing do nothing for a member of the bifocal generation.

Uniden®, one of today’s leading electronics manufacturers heard my anguish and designed the CEZAI998.  Its features are designed specifically for those whose eyes and ears are not what they used to be.  

There was a lot of information in this article , so we've filtered down the basic facts into a simple chart that will allow you to review the basics at a glance. A couple of important caveats:

1. I can't stress enough that things like comfort and percieved sound quality are subjective. Test environments varied greatly from noisy crowds to trains to car interiors. The person on the other end of the call was our best judge of sound quality.


2. Use this as a guide. Rely on your own best judgement. As we said in the article, you know your ears better than anyone else.


3. We gave the Aliph Jawbone a slight edge for noise reduction because of its excellent performance in extreme conditions. The other headsets also performed exceptionally well and have our complete recommendation if your circumstances warrant it.
